Think about design pattern
Take time to plan a petal arrangement on the glass surface.
Things to consider:
- Think about different ways to use the materials. For example: do you want to use the flowers as they are or break them apart in some way.
- How will colors interact in your design?
- How will petals interact with the goldleaf or not?
- Consider using some or all of the glass panels in your design.
- Consider interesting effects that come from using both sides of the glass.
Select
Take your time and enjoy the breath of flora. Select petals to build your pattern.
Adhere
Apply adhesive to areas where you want to apply the botanicals. Paint over the botanical to secure it in place.
Demo
Add elegant goldleaf accents to enhance your design. Create borders, or add shimmer to empty spaces in your composition.
Work in a calm environment as goldleaf is delicate and can be affected by air movement. Remember that imperfections can add character to your piece - don't stress if every bit isn't perfect. The natural, handcrafted quality is part of the beauty.
Apply adhesive to areas where you want the metallic finish. Gently lay goldleaf sheets over the adhesive. After adhering the goldleaf, it's important to pause and let your work rest before continuing.
Demo
Step away from your project for 15-30 minutes. This allows the adhesive to dry.
Enjoy some refreshments and connect with the community or simply enjoy a moment of rest. The creative process benefits from these intentional pauses.
Gently remove excess goldleaf with the brush to reveal the final design beneath.
Use the soft, dry brush, carefully sweep away loose goldleaf that hasn't adhered to the sizing. Work with gentle, light strokes to avoid disturbing the goldleaf that has bonded properly.
The goldleaf will only stick where you applied the adhesive, revealing your intentional design.

Inspect your design carefully and make final adjustments.
If your kit includes a felt inset for the base, position it carefully inside the bottom of the box. You may choose to wait while the piece dries completely.
